Using Masterplan on more than one device

Everything lives on your account, so a second device just needs the same sign-in method.

Signing in somewhere new

Install Masterplan, sign in with the same method you used originally, and your cookbook, collections, plans and lists are all there.

The method matters more than the email address. If you first signed up with Apple and later sign in with Google — or with an email that differs from the one Apple gave us — you'll land in a new, empty account rather than your existing one. Nothing is lost, but don't start re-adding recipes: sign out and try the other method first. See are my recipes safe?

What syncs, and how quickly

Recipes, collections, plans and lists all live on your account, so any device signed in sees the same data. Within a household, ticking off a grocery item shows up on everyone's phone within a second or two.

A couple of things update when the screen loads rather than instantly — most noticeably, a new grocery list created on one device may not appear on another until it refreshes. Pull down on the list to fetch again.

iPad and Mac

Masterplan is built for iPhone. It will run on an iPad, but the layout is designed for a phone screen. There's no Mac or web version at the moment.

If something hasn't appeared

  1. Check both devices are online.
  2. Pull down to refresh on the screen you're looking at.
  3. Check you're in the same place — Personal and Household have separate grocery lists and meal plans, and it's easy to be looking at one on one phone and the other elsewhere.
  4. Confirm both devices are signed into the same account, under More then Profile.

Still stuck?

Email [email protected] and a person will read it — or write from inside the app, under More then Help.
