Turning on the share extension

The fastest way to save a recipe is never to open Masterplan at all. It takes one setup step, and iOS hides it well.

Turning it on

iOS doesn't show new share destinations until you enable them, which is why Masterplan may not appear the first time you look.

  1. Open any post or page with a recipe on it.
  2. Tap the share button — the square with an arrow coming out of it.
  3. Scroll the row of app icons all the way right and tap More.
  4. Find Masterplan and switch it on. Drag it up the list to keep it near the front.

It stays there from then on.

Using it

Share the post to Masterplan and carry on scrolling. The recipe is read and saved in the background, and it's waiting in your cookbook when you next open the app — you don't have to sit and watch it finish.

If you share several recipes in a row, they all queue up. Closing the share sheet or leaving the app won't lose them.

What it works with

Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest and any recipe website. Also anything that can share a link — Safari, Messages, Notes, an email.

For a recipe that isn't written down anywhere, take a screenshot and import that instead. Photo import reads text in images and is the fallback for everything else. If something won't come through, see why an import failed.

Still stuck?

Email [email protected] and a person will read it — or write from inside the app, under More then Help.
